Banksia Strategic Partners has celebrated the end of 2019 with a special event at Collins Quarter in Melbourne - and what a wonderful evening it was.

The event on 29 November was a special moment because it marked two years of existence for my firm, Banksia. It was lovely to spend that occasion with our clients, staff, supporters and especially guest speaker Ian Silk, CEO of AustralianSuper.

Pink Alley Bar on Collins Street hosted the event, and the staff were exceptional. I would highly recommend the venue to anyone looking for an intimate yet lively space for a corporate event.

The night gave me a chance to thank our wonderful clients and all the people who have contributed to our success so far. We are already looking forward to a productive and successful 2020.

Guest speaker Ian Silk was incredibly generous with his remarks on the night.

He noted some of our accomplishments, including providing strategic advice to governments and top ASX listed companies; raising significant funds for charities, non-profits and community organisations; helping to achieve real social inclusion for people with different abilities, keep at risk young people engaged with education and out of the criminal justice system, and make mental health a top political priority; policy leadership in the sectors of life sciences, sustainable transport and renewable energy; and brokering the historic National Compact on Permanent Migration between employers and employees.

“Banksia has a bright future,” Ian said. And I can’t help but agree!

I trust that the oversized calculator we gave Ian as a thank you allows him to continue to keep track of the billions in retirement savings that he oversees at AustralianSuper, the nation’s largest superannuation fund.

Thank you to everyone who made this such an enjoyable and memorable night.
